Tulsa Symphony Acting Principal Trombone Audition

Tulsa Symphony announces an audition for Acting Principal Trombone, a half-season position with the opportunity to become permanent.

Audition date: Thursday, November 14th, 2019
Application deadline: Monday, November 4th, 2019

The winning candidate will begin playing with the Tulsa Symphony in January of 2020 and is expected to continue through the final concert on May 15, 2020. In the event of the Principal Trombone position opening permanently, it may be offered to the winning candidate in June of 2020.

Brahms: 1st Symphony, 4th mvt., Chorale at letter C
Berlioz: Hungarian March
Rossini: William Tell, Storm Scene
Rossini: La Gazza Ladra, solos beginning in E Major & G Major, include octave leaps
Ravel: Bolero, reh. 10-11
Mozart: Tuba Mirum, mm. 1-34
Mahler: 3rd Symphony, 1st mvt., reh.13-17

Travel reimbursement:  Tulsa Symphony reimburses travel at $0.30 per mile, minus a 30-mile radius around downtown Tulsa, with a maximum of 180 miles reimbursed.  Those traveling more than 139 miles would be offered a choice of double-occupancy overnight accommodations or a $50 per night stipend.
