Tom StoutPartnership Coordinator

Mr. Stout currently serves as an Executive Administrative Assistant for the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra. His varied responsibilities include working with Education and Community Outreach, assisting the Executive Director, the Orchestra Manager and coordinating special projects. Prior to his appointment with TSO Mr. Stout was a music educator in the Fayetteville Arkansas Public Schools for eight years and in the Broken Arrow Public Schools for 30 years.

Mr. Stout held the position of Coordinator of Instrumental Music for Broken Arrow Public Schools from 1987 until his retirement in 2003. Under his supervision the Broken Arrow Instrumental Music Program gained State and National recognition in all genres of Music Education. His professional affiliations are Music Educator’s National Conference, Oklahoma Bandmasters Association, Northeastern Band Directors Association, Phi Beta Mu, and Kappa Kappa Psi. Mr. Stout earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Northeastern State University and his Masters in Music Education degree from the University of Tulsa. Mr. Stout was named Oklahoma Bandmaster of the Year in 1992. He was named Outstanding Alumnus to the College of Arts and Letters of Northeastern State University and inducted into the Northeastern State University Music Hall of Fame in 1996. Mr. Stout has been awarded the Sudler Order of Merit of the John Philip Sousa Foundation in 1999, and was inducted to the Oklahoma Bandmasters Hall of Fame in 2004. Mr. Stout also currently serves as the Conductor of the Tulsa Community College Community Band and is an adjunct music education professor for the University of Tulsa.
