About TSO Education Programs
The Tulsa Symphony strives to be a musical leader widely recognized for our significant contributions to the civic, cultural life of the community and its educational impact. Quality Music Education plays a key part in our founding principles. The Tulsa Symphony is committed to an extensive Education Program that helps young people excel in their learning styles through the use of music and aids them in building a musical foundation. Moreover, the we help build on existing school music programs in addition to continuously creating new and exciting music education programs of our own. Tulsa Symphony Student Concert Preparation
Dan Call, retired Tulsa music educator and Tulsa Symphony Board Member, is available to come to your school to present a short program. Dan’s engaging program gives students information to ensure the success of both the performers and the listeners. He talks to the students about the power the audience has to make it a better performance by the way they listen with energy, imagination, knowledge and understanding of the music. Dan also plays sample recordings of some of the music that will be in the upcoming concert. A session lasts about 20-30 minutes and should be scheduled for no more than 40 students at once.
A pre-concert discussion with the conductor is also available for free to all concertgoers an hour before all performances.
Tulsa Symphony has an $8.00 student price that is available to both students and their families.
Call Kathy at TSO to schedule Dan’s presentation for your class/school or to purchase student tickets: 918.584-3645 ext. 206 or kathy@tulsasymphony.org
