Acclaimed pianist Jon Kimura Parker will perform Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 2 as the featured concerto soloist on TSO’s opening Classics Series Gala Concert on September 16, 2017. Known for his passionate artistry and engaging stage presence, Mr. Parker has been hailed as “an insightful energetic soloist” by The New York Times. Also on the program are Brahms’ energetic Hungarian Dances No. 1 and No. 5 and Bartok’s colorful Miraculous Mandarin Suite.

Classics performances are preceded by a conversation with the conductor at 6:30 p.m. The Inside the Actors Studio-style presentation is held in the PAC’s Westby Pavilion and is hosted by Ken Busby.
